We provide programs for 3, 4 and 5 year olds that promote a positive self-concept while assisting them to grow and develop socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and creatively to the best of their abilities.
Our centre has 2 classrooms. Each classroom has a lead teacher and an assistant teacher.
Maximum class size is 20.
Three year olds attend Tuesday's and Thursday's... either a morning program or an afternoon program.
4 and 5 year olds attend 3 days, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays or 5 days, Monday through Friday.
Half days or full days, before and after available.
Our programs operate from September until June.
Registration is ongoing.
When is the first day of preschool?
The preschool year starts the first week of September, however registration is ongoing through out the year. Once we receive your registration package your child’s teacher will send you a ‘Welcome Newsletter’ by email with details of your child’s first day. Your child’s first day will be on the bottom of your completed registration form.
What Should My Preschooler Bring?
A pair of easy slip - on or Velcro shoes is required to be left at the preschool for the year. Socks alone are not an option as we do monthly fire drills and the children need to be able to go outside on short notice. A back pack is a great way to transport a change of clothes to school as well as toting crafts home. We request packing a change of clothes in the backpack, including underwear, pants and socks. Accidents do happen so a change of clothes will be necessary. We have spare clothes on hand but not a wide variety of sizes or styles.
Should I pack a snack?
Yes, we ask parents to send a healthy snack and a personal water bottle with their child in a container that is clearly labelled with their name. Please do not include anything that requires heating, and remember we are a NUT FREE environment.
Please supply a healthy snack. Suggestions are fresh fruit and vegetables, whole wheat crackers and water or juice. We are a nut free environment. Consult your teacher in regards to allergy alerts.
Do you celebrate birthdays?
Yes, we do. A prepackaged store bought special snack can be brought to help celebrate your child’s birthday. We suggest Rice Krispie Squares as they comply with most allergy issues and are easy to serve. Check with you teacher to organize your child's special day.
Do you have regular physical activities?
Yes, weather permitting, we have a large fenced playground with a climber, balance beams, 'stepping stumps' and a shed packed full of fun toys. Picnic tables for snack time on those warm sunny days. Always dress your child for the weather. Our facility boasts a large gymnasium with an abundance of equipment for inclement days where we play games, sports and get physical exercise, which is a key component of our programs.
Should I call the preschool to notify in case of an absence?
Yes, Please call us with any absence.

When are the scheduled holidays?
We follow the Public School Board Stat. holiday schedule. We do not close for the school board (PD) professional days. Monthly news letters are sent to keep parents up to date on themes, activities and special events. Check your monthly newsletter or ask your teacher if you are unsure of the holiday schedule.
When do I register for next year?
Registration is on-going
Please call our office (403) 217-5658
Priority registration for currently enrolled students and alumni is held in January of every year. Register early to ensure you get the program of your choice.
Can I book a personal tour?
Personal tours are available by appointment. We prefer to register in person where you are able to meet our teachers and see our facility in person. We encourage making your child a part of the experience by including them in the registration process and allowing them to join a class during your tour. Please contact our office to set up a time.
Please come to our Open houses. Every February we host an OPEN HOUSE for everyone to come and meet our teachers and see our beautiful facility. Our classrooms are designed and decorated to inspire and stimulate your child's imagination. This is our registration drive when current families register for the up coming year. It is the best time for new parents to register in a program and secure a spot.
Our next OPEN HOUSE is in JUNE every year when we join the SCA (Strathcona Community Association) in holding a Stampede breakfast. This is free for everyone to come and enjoy a pancake breakfast with bacon, sausage, coffee & tea and lots of other goodies. Entertainment for the parents and Bouncy Houses and games for the kids and much more. Our classrooms are open to meet with our teachers who are available to answer all your questions. Call our office for dates and times, and watch for our signs.
